안경은 안 보이는 것을 보이게 하고, 해로운 빛을 반사하며, 바이러스를 막는 등 대단한 효과들을 가진다. 이러다가 안경은 총알도 막아주고, 심지어 산타와 같은 신비한 존재를 볼 수 있게 해줄지도 모른다. 안경을 이렇게 신화같이 표현한 과대광고를 값싸게 표현했다.

광고는 현실에 대한 우리의 진정한 관계를 왜곡한다. 그러나 우리는 그것을 자연스럽게 받아들인다. 안경은 쓰면 당연 멋져야하고, 똑똑함을 가져다주며, 다양한 기능을 갖춰야만 되는 줄 안다. 광고는 사회적 강박의 결정체이며, 우리의 사회적 강박은 저렴하다.

A pair of glasses serve various functions: correcting vision, protecting the eyes from harmful light, keeping germs off, and many more. The Magic Glasses are bulletproof and make mysterious beings like Santa Claus visible. I designed a kitschy hype for Magic Glasses, a pair of glasses with mythical powers.

Advertisements distort our true relationship to reality. However we subconsciously absorb the false information provided by advertisement as true. We expect a pair of glasses to make us look more cool, look more intelligent, and have various functions. An advertisement is the fruit of social compulsion, and our social compulsion is cheap.
